NICOLE METZGER & NEW YORK CONNECTION

Together with Joe Fonda, Michael J. Stevens (piano) and Harvey Sorgen (drums) she recorded in Brooklyn (NY) in August 2002 the CD "At any other time", which contains equally their own compositions and standards. Since then Nicole Metzger has been regulary touring with these three musicans around the United States and Europe.

Joe Fonda / bass
Joe Fonda has become well-known due to the tour and recordings with the renowned Jazz-Musican, Anthony Braxton. With him, he recorded the well-known "Charlie Parker Project Recordings" and the "Piano-Quartet-Record".
Amongst other performances, he appeared at the Jazz-Festivals "North Sea Jazz Festival NL" and the "Istanbul International Jazz Festival ,TR"
In cooperation with other musicans including: Ken Mc Intyre, Charlie Persip, Lou Donaldson, Perry Robinson, Kenny Barron, Leo Smith, Curtis Fuller und Chico Hamilton.

Second place at the "Monaco-Inernational-Jazz-Compositions-Contest" and also nomination to "Margret-Lee-Crofts-Fellow 2000-2001" from the MacDowell Artists Colony.
60 CD-productions with his own projects. More than 300 compositions for different groups , musicians and artists.
In cooperations with other musicans including: Dave Douglas, Mark Feldman, Dominic Duval, Gerry Hemingway, Cecil Bridgewater, Leo Smith, Thomas Chapin, Herb Robertson, Paul Smoker, Valery Ponomarev, Han Bennik, Matt Wilson, Marc Whitecage und Billy Martin.

Harvey Sorgen / drums
Former Member of the internationally known Rock group "Hot Tuna".
Recordings with Hot Tuna, The Arc Quartet, The Mosaic Sextet and Sorgen-Rust-Stevens-Trio.
Publicaton of his own teaching-video: "Drumming Made Easy (Homespun Tapes).
In cooperation with other musicans including: Anthony Braxton, Bruce Hornsby, Jack De-Johnette, Bob Weir, david Torn, Ahmad Jamal, Los Lobos, Art Lande, Roswell rudd, NRBQ and Bill Frisell.
